File Z23-10-03 for the property at 72 Old School Rd., Rome, GA 30165, Floyd County Tax Parcel J12X047, requests rezoning from Community Commercial (C-C) to Suburban Residential (S-R). Staff recommended approval. Planning Commission approved 6-0.

CONSENT AGENDA

 
1.

Consider request to approve an employee contract for Water Operations Supervisor/Master Electrician.

 
2.

Consider request from Purchasing for approval to deem certain equipment as surplus items to be listed on GovDeals. The equipment has been examined by the Public Works Shop Manager and is considered unsalvageable for Floyd County use.

 
3.

Consider request from Purchasing to approve the purchase of office furniture from National Business Furniture for the Prison in the amount of $33,950 using GL Account # 330460 - 67040.

 
4.

Consider request from EMA to approve the renewal of contract with OnSolve CodeRed for emergency alerts in the amount of $15,875.

 
5.

Consider request from Facilities to reclassify position 455-312 Plumber pay grade 14 to Plumber Corrections pay grade 15. This has been approved by the Merit Board. This will require an additional $1,000 in salaries (100455-50000) in 2023 and $5,200 for 2024.

 
6.

Consider request from the Prison to approve a Mail Handling Services Agreement with The Store Call.

 
7.

Consider request to approve a bus shelter easement agreement at the Library with the City of Rome.

1.

Consider request from Purchasing to award a bid to Anderson Power Services for the replacement and installation of the 500kw and 250kw generator at the Jail in the amount of $415,745 using 2017 SPLOST funds from GL Account # 319639 - 66127 - 60025. Funds will need to be a carry over for the 2024 budget. This vendor submitted a bid that met all specifications and was the lowest bid.

 
2.

Consider request from Purchasing to approve the purchase of one (1) electric vehicle from Shottenkirk for General Services in the amount of $43,075 using 2017 SPLOST funds from GL Account # 319639 - 66127 - 60025.

 
3.

Consider request from EMA to approve the purchase of ten additional HVAC units for the remaining five communication tower sites from T&T Commercial Services in the amount of $116,020 using 2017 SPLOST funds from GL Account #319639 - 66127 - 60025.

 
4.

Consider request from Purchasing for approval to use $19,200 of remaining funding for the previously awarded Demolition and Installation of Handicap Ramps and Sidewalks in Riverside Village to Saps Construction, LLC using 2017 SPLOST funds from GL Account # 319639 - 66124 - 60020. This is for an additional 600 feet and was originally approved at the September 12, 2023 meeting.

 
5.

Consider request from Purchasing to approve Harbor Services Inc as the General Contractor for the AdventHealth Baseball Stadium renovations.  This is being procured under the Omnia Cooperative agreement. Floyd County would agree to enter into this agreement with costs not to exceed $2,100,000.

 
6.

Consider request to approve Studio 8 Design as the architect for the Agriculture Center.
